10 directories for Local SEO
One of the first things we always recommend when starting the process of getting a website onto page one of Google is to make sure your business name is registered with as many Local Citations as possible. What are Local Citations I hear you ask? Local Citations are multiple consistent mentions of your business information on local business directories, specifically online directories. Search engines like Google use these entries as a trust signal, and consistent Name Address and Phone Number (sometimes called NAP) mentions of your business will help you to rank in local Google search results. In addition each of these directories will ask for a link to your website, which will be a potential lead generator.
In order for Google to take notice, you must follow some simple guidelines and make sure you submit exactly the same information (NAP) to every single directory. NAP – Name, Address, Phone Number – is critical for businesses wishing to rank well in the local organic search results.
So here we have the top 10 UK business directories, based on trust, Alexa and PR rank.
