Why does my website not appear on google?
If your website is new it will take a few weeks to appear on Google as Google takes this long to completely crawl the internet for updates and new sites. It is also worthwhile checking that your site is not blocked to Search Engines. You can also proactively send your website site map to Google to speed this up.
How to help your website to rank well on Google
We get asked “why does my website not appear on google” all the time. As SEO experts we have the tools and the expertise to give an in-depth answer and more importantly to put things right. However, there are quick checks you can do yourself to see if your website has been given the best chance
Google friendly page addresses (URL’s)
Go to your website and click on your most important product or service pages. Now look at the address of the page you are on in the address bar at the top of the page. A good web address should read well e.g. www.Greatco.co.uk/ITSupport. Google now knows exactly what that page is about, whereas if your page address looks more like www.Greatco.co.uk/id=43967.net Google will struggle.
Page Headings
Google would also like the heading of your page to describe the service clearly, if it matches the page address then even better.
Content and images
Finally, Google would like your service to be mentioned a few times in the text to make absolutely clear what the page is about. Google would ideally like 300 words about your product or service so make sure you have plenty of content. If your website allows you to name your images either before they are uploaded or afterwards, this will also help. Naming the images the same as your product or service will also help your ranking.
If all this fails?
The simple advice above will give you a pointer but the problems may be of a more technical nature. Depending on how your website has been built, Google may not be able to read (index) your website. What ever the problem an expert view will of course help. Our first review is free so please feel free to get in touch if you need help!
