Moving your business online

The COVID-19 crisis has forced companies to change the way they operate, and moving your business online maybe the way forward. This poses the question, is the way we operate business in the future changed for good?

An introduction of web conferencing, specifically Zoom allows companies to hold meetings, webinars and conferences at home. This has changed the dynamic in the way we work. This tool has become an asset in keeping workplaces functioning amid the Coronavirus pandemic. This may show business owners that moving online is the way forward. In this article we will discuss how businesses such as our client, Elite Health has coped with the change to video conferencing and the future of their business.

Elite Health is a team of health and fitness professionals based in Cheshire, specialising in one to one Personal training, massage and therapy. This company made the jump to online video conferencing to adapt to the exceptional circumstances we find ourselves in. Being in a hands-on industry, this was a big change. However, for Elite Health it has been very successful.

Elite Health has been flexible with their clients, allowing them to choose what platform they wish to continue their training through. However, Zoom has been predominately used for group class work. This has allowed clients to train from their own homes and keep the business growing. They came up with this plan by completing a SWOT analysis as a team and found opportunities to move onto online. This enabled them to maintain the majority of their client base and even expand their business as they are not restricted to one location. The move to online has been so successful that Elite Health will continue to work online. Learning more skills and adapting their business to get over any challenges that may occur.

So, what advice does Elite Health have about moving your business online?

Jacqueline Bosworth, owner of Elite Health, says to make the jump and to see past where we are currently. Instead of focusing on negativity in lockdown, try to look past it and try something new. Use a few key clients and test the online service with them. Make sure to listen to any advice and criticisms they give. There will be plenty of trial and error but learning from mistakes is crucial in growing your business.

Ultimately, business in the future is inevitably going to be affected by this pandemic. However,  the way your business operates and continues is down to how you adapt and change in a dynamic market.
