About Global River

Global River are a small but fast growing web design business based in Northwich. We design and build bespoke websites in WordPress and Magento for small and medium sized businesses. The simplicity of the CMS solutions we build mean that we can hand management of our websites over to our clients and help and guide them on how to use the website and other Digital Marketing tools to successfully market and grow their businesses. This along with honest and transparent SEO services has proven to be a big hit and we are growing as a result.

The Role

We are now looking to recruit a Junior web developer to help deliver the volume of work that we are winning. The successful candidate will work under our technical director and learn how to build websites the “Global River way.”  In addition to this we have a large number of clients on retainers who need regular changes making to their websites and this would form a large part of the initial workload. We are very ambitious and this represents an opportunity to establish yourself, grow your skills, and fast track your career as the business grows.

 

Personal Attributes

Applicants will be enthusiastic and have a good work ethic. Be flexible in their approach and pick up new skills quickly. They will often be required to liaise with and meet customers to ensure that any solutions we implement have been thought through from a technical perspective.

 

Experience and qualifications

Educated to degree level in a relevant degree course (Computer Sciences)

And/or

2 years of industry experience

 

Required skills

• Excellent HTML and CSS knowledge
• Good working knowledge of php and or WordPress
• Some understanding of Magento
• Some understanding/experience with responsive website layouts

 

Nice to have skills

• Some understanding of the LAMP hosting server setup
• Understanding of image editing
