Pop-up Forms Popping Off
We have noticed that on a number of sites there is a combination of events that means that webforms are not sending details out to the intended recipients.
This can happen where the form is activated via a popup window and has the anti-spam feature from Google reCAPTCHA activated. This is only an issue when the forms have been incorrectly completed and so when clicking on the ‘submit’ button normally the form will then show the visitor the fields that have been incorrectly completed. But in these occasions the Google reCAPTCHA service reloads the page and the form disappears. The visitor has no idea that the form has not been sent because no error messages were seen and the intended recipient never gets the form details.
This is quite a difficult issue to spot because it would involve completing the forms incorrectly but if you think you have a form that is showing this behaviour then get in touch with us so that we can sort this out. We have a number of options to remedy this situation from hiding the submit button until the form is correctly completed to using a different way to stop spam messages, so we will be able to find a solution that suits your site.
Or if you would like to talk to us about implementing a form checking procedure so that we can find potential issues like this much quicker, we will be happy to discuss the options we can put in place for you.
